This abstract piece is noticeably different than what I’ve traditionally done. Where most of my work requires lots of patience and many hours of intricate detail work, I was being drawn to balance some of that out with something more expressive.
It has been argued that non-objective abstracts are one of the highest forms of art. What might appear to some as just random splotches of paint, scribbles, and shapes, is actually a very expressive, freeing, and powerful process of creating, while also choosing how to articulate the elements of art: color, line, texture, value, etc. Abstracts also allow viewers endless possibilities of how to interpret them
Specifications:
Artist-grade oil paint used for intense color, depth, and longevity
Heavy duty, archival-quality natural cotton canvas, gallery wrapped on a professionally-constructed frame using 1.5" profile kiln-dried stretcher bars
Varnished with Gamvar gloss varnish by Gamblin for long-lasting protection
Sides of the canvas have been finished with either a continuation of the painting or a solid color to complement the painting
Mounting hardware included, ready to hang
Artist signature will be included on the front of the painting
Artist signature, date, and painting title will be included on the back of the painting
